Ertugrul Bey was the father of Osman Bey, the founder of the Ottoman Empire. He was a prominent warrior and a member of the Kayi tribe of the Oghuz Turks. He lived in the 13th century in what is now modern-day Turkey.
Ertugrul had three brothers: Sungurtekin, Gündoğdu, and Dündar. Sungurtekin was also a warrior and a close ally of Ertugrul. Gündoğdu became the bey (leader) of the Kayi tribe after Ertugrul's death, and Dündar was a diplomat and a religious scholar.
The four brothers played a significant role in the establishment of the Ottoman Empire. They fought against the Mongols and other rival tribes, expanding the territory of the Kayi tribe and laying the foundations for the eventual Ottoman conquest of the region. Their story is popularized in the Turkish TV series, "Diriliş: Ertuğrul," which has gained a massive following across the globe.
